Located on Main Street in the heart of historic downtown Hudson, Barker's Bar & Grill has earned a reputation as one of the most popular dining and hospitality locations in the St. Croix Valley...
Opened in October of 1988 by Robert Barker Wasmund, the historic 1900 vintage building was completely renovated and brought back to it's unique splendor complete with the original tin ceilings, English brick façade and red oak woodwork. The location has a long, rich history on Hudson’s "hospitality" scene dating back to Gust Erickson's Stockholm Saloon in the early to mid 1900's, Harry Stuhr's Harry's Tip Top Bar in the '60's and '70's and the CC Bar & Grill in the 70's and 80's to name a few. The restaurant also boasts many unique characteristics including furnishings and fixtures from the old Milwaukee Train Depot and the historic Duluth Hotel. It was one of the first Hudson restaurants to utilize a fully open, "exhibition" style kitchen to showcase a very quality-driven "bar and grill" menu and a large selection of import and micro brew craft beers.
On July 1st, 1996 Wasmund initiated a partnership with one of his original former employees, Pete Foster and the two men worked together in separate roles, focusing on offering the highest quality food, beverages and customer service in the area. Through several expansions of both the physical property and the concept in general, Foster bought Wasmund out of the business in 2003 and continues to operate the establishment today along with a staff of many long-tenured, loyal employees.
Barker's Bar & Grill will continue to stay true to its original concept and honor our three golden rules: "Highest Quality of Food and Beverage, Highest Quality of Service and the Cleanliness of our Establishment", to ensure a comfortable and unique experience for each and every one of our essential guests!
